Definition

parent<E extends HTMLElement = HTMLElement>(): ElementWrapper<E>

Description

Returns a new ElementWrapper containing the parent element of the first selected element.

If the element has no parent, an empty wrapper is returned.

Example

<div class="container">
  <span class="child">Hello</span>
</div>

$('.child').parent(); // Wraps the .container div
